Violet Organization Joins IFLRY and Launches the First Female Leadership Academy in Iraq and Kurdistan

violet Organization is proud to announce that, as of May 1st, we have officially joined the International Federation of Liberal Youth (IFLRY) as a member organization. IFLRY is a global umbrella body representing over 100 liberal, democratic, and progressive youth organizations from every continent—including Africa, the MENA region, Europe, Asia, Latin America, North America, and Oceania.

Since its founding in 1947, IFLRY has been a powerful voice for freedom, democracy, human rights, and sustainable development, providing a dynamic platform for youth to engage in policy-making, leadership, and international collaboration. Its current leadership includes Hania Knio of Lebanon—the first female president from the MENA region—alongside Tirza Drent and Maria Olthaar from the Netherlands, reflecting IFLRY’s commitment to inclusive, gender-balanced leadership.

As a direct outcome of this meaningful partnership, Violet proudly introduced and fully funded the Female Leadership Academy in Sulaymaniyah—bringing it to Iraq and Kurdistan for the very first time. This program aims to empower young women with key leadership skills, international exposure, and the tools to make a lasting impact in their communities.
