Cinema project (Watching film together)
The Violet Organization, recognizing the power of art as a catalyst for change, launched an initiative to encourage women's participation in elections and their right to choose their representative in Iraq's parliament. The initiative involved organizing a movie-watching activity for women, followed by debates and discussions to exchange ideas.
The movie selected for the activity was Suffragette, which portrays the struggles that women had to endure to gain the right to have their candidate in the UK parliament. The movie also sheds light on different countries' journeys towards granting women the right to participate in elections.
After the movie screening, a debate was held among the participants to discuss and exchange ideas. The aim was to encourage women to participate in elections and to vote for their preferred candidate regardless of their political affiliation. Through a survey form, it was determined that 95% of the participants had changed their minds to vote and participate in the elections, which is considered a success for the initiative.
