DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality

Violet Organization celebrated International Women's Day with an event titled "DigitALL: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality." This title was selected by the United Nations as the theme for IWD 2023 to promote women's involvement in digital industries. The event was attended by representatives from the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (Mr. Qubad Talabani), IQ Company, and Hotel Rotana, as well as representatives from technology companies and organizations, and lecturers and students from private and governmental technology universities and institutes in Sulaymaniyah.

The event consisted of two sections. In the first section, Ms. Saz Luqman, an Application Interface Engineer at iQ Company, spoke about the importance of technology in education and work, while Ms. Raveen Rizgar, the founder of Suli Innovation House, shared her experience in launching a technology-based business.

In the second section, a panel was hosted on "Breaking Barriers: Advancing Girls in Technology," moderated by Ms. Mina Nabaz, a member of the Violet Organization Board of Directors. The panel featured a few panelists, including Ms. Avin Qadir, the General Manager of Click Iraq Company, Ms. Dashne Saeed, the Manager of Takween Accelerator, and Ms. Sara Mustafa, who holds a Master's Degree in AI.

During the event, Violet Organization announced two upcoming projects aimed at improving women's abilities in technology. The first project was Violet Code 2023, announced by Mr. Aro Dana, the winner of the first prize in the Google Hashcode Competition in Iraq for 2023. The second project involved offering free technology courses and training for girls as part of the Violet Stage Project's activities.
